Welcome to the last quarter of 2016!  What is in store for the real estate market during this last quarter?  I believe it will remain stable and reflect the usual slower activity for this time of year.  The Fed will most likely raise the interest rate in December but not drastically.  Rates remain historically low.

Below is some positive news for 2017.

The National Association of Realtors,  the Mortgage Bankers' Association,  Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae are all projecting that home sales will increase in 2017.  Here is a chart showing what each entity is projecting in sales for this year and the next.

 Market Update  

Below is the latest Trendgraphix information for single family homes in Folsom.  The average sold price is holding steady at $500,000 while for sale, pended and sold are down slightly.  Inventory and days on the market are up.  This seems to be typical for this time of year.  

Interest rates remain below 3.5%.  Currently the 30 year fixed rate is at about 3.42% and the 15 year fixed rate is about 2.72%.
